"Foday is a charming man and a great companion as a guide. He really knows his subject and exactly where best to find the birds of the Gambia.
Once his clients are on a bird he doesn’t rest and wait like some of the others do. He is all eyes and ears for another species often a rarer one. When he finds a bird that is not often seen as he often
does he cannot conceal his own enthusiasm and delight. He is sensitive to the clients’ particular
requirements and will gladly discuss exactly what they want to achieve rather than try to impose
a pre-set schedule. If you take photographs you will find his shoulders are a great substitute for a
bean bag!
What really comes across above all about Foday is his enthusiasm for his chosen career and in
particular for the amazing bird-life of The Gambia. I recommend him to you without hesitation.

Foday is a great guide and gets just as excited as you when he finds a good bird.He is like going out birding with a friend.Used Foday in 2011 and will again this year in november,
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I really enjoyed every hour that we spent with Foday, who pointed out so many fascinating and beautiful birds to us, from tiny little sunbirds to great kingfishers and he even tracked down a resting nightjar for us! He is really knowledgeable about the many different birds, and about where to go to see them, too. Also, he can call the birds by mimicking their whistle! That was lovely to hear and to see the birds respond. Going for a trip with Foday makes a big difference as he will point out so much that otherwise you will just walk right by.
